On Friday, October 10th, LEC welcomed School Sisters of Notre Dame General Councilors to Mankato. Sisters Carolyn Anyega and Christine Garcia came all the way from Rome, Italy on a tour of SSND's Sponsored Ministries. They visited LEC's Community Garden on Good Counsel Hill and learned more about LEC's impact in the Mankato community. SSND founded the Community Garden in 1996, and we were proud to share all the growth and changes that have taken place over the past 29 years.

Living Earth Center was founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, as the Center for Earth Spirituality and Rural Ministry, in 1996.  LEC became an independent nondenominational nonprofit in 2017. As a Sponsored Ministry of SSND, we are honored to continue their legacy of care for Earth and for all creation.
