2022 Garden and Farm Managers Hired

Living Earth Center is excited to announce we have filled our two seasonal manager positions for the 2022 growing season.  Mallory Murphy has been hired as our Community Garden Manager and Abbey Dickhudt has been hired as our Community Farm Manager.  We are looking forward to working with both of them this garden season.

Meet Mallory:

My name is Mallory Murphy, and I am the Garden Manager for the Living Earth Center. I grew up in Minnesota Lake before moving to North Mankato in 2020. I am studying for a degree in Parks and Rec, and I also work part-time at both The Wine Cafe and Neutral Groundz. In my spare time, I enjoy going for hikes, painting, writing, reading, playing music, drinking coffee, and traveling—especially to the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Meet Abbey:

Abbey Dickhudt (she/her) is from Mankato, MN and after finishing school at the University of Minnesota-Morris, she farmed for two seasons with Prairie Drifter Farm in Litchfield, MN. Being back in Mankato has meant lots of time with her family, including her niece and nephew. Along with that time, Abbey enjoys teaching Lathe classes at the Makerspace, working at a cabinet shop, jamming with her trumpet, and cooking food. Abbey is most excited to connect with others at the farm this year, learn from those that have been integral to it for years, and see what blooms from seeds planted!
