In conjunction with a dynamic volunteer network, the Farm Manager is responsible for all operations of the Blue Earth County Community Farm including planning, planting, harvesting, and donating all produce, collaborating with community partners and volunteer coordinator, and working with emerging farmers to cultivate farm plots. The manager will report directly to the Living Earth Center's Executive Director.
Under direct supervision of the Executive Director of the Living Earth Center, the Community Garden Manager will manage various activities and functions associated with general management of the Garden including some garden work (e.g. weeding, watering, harvesting produce), volunteer coordination, new gardener orientation, event and activity coordination, community engagement, sustainable practice education and other duties as assigned or apparent. The Garden Manager’s primary role is to serve as the “face of the Garden” to be a welcoming presence for all gardeners and guests that visit the space.
Under direct supervision of the Executive Director of the Living Earth Center, the Volunteer and Strategic Partnership Coordinator will recruit, cultivate and manage volunteers and potential organizations to partner with at both Farm and Garden locations in collaboration with both the Community Farm Manager and Community Garden Manager. In addition, the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator will meet with local individuals and businesses to recruit volunteers and cultivate strategic partnerships locally. The Coordinator will also be responsible for participating in volunteer activities on occasion, tracking all volunteer activity and contact information, providing timely follow-up communication, and enabling future engagement with the organization.
